NEVER tell a Dragon he cannot ignite fires of expression.

The year ended with one sad and disappointing note.. I again prepped the year numbers to burn.. Then after weeks of silence, was told by those running the winter festivities at Burn2 that it wasn't needed after all and the gift of that effort was DENIED.

Well not going to leave it at that. I put in that effort so might as well run the show in a sandbox and record a video to share.

oh and what was the official burn?

well it's a tree that was set on fire before the scheduled hour with little to no notice. Just felt like an afterthought that was made because "nobody else was able (allowed) to do it". Really if it wasn't so clearly cobbled together by the one person that also did EVERYTHING ELSE I wouldn't be as disappointed. If there had been any interest in communication or collaboration I could contribute what I could to help make it extra special. However that's not what Burn2 is now. The communal effort, talents, and gifts of others are constantly cut short and denied because privileged people can do "good enough"

Is that right though? When you think of Burning Man "Good enough" is what it's all about right? That as long as we had a mediocre experience that's all that mattered?

The point isn't radically challenging and pushing the limits of art and expression? nah that would be silly and is just an annoying challenge to control by those in power.
