Persist into the future
Hello dear friends..
Just keep going, one step after another, that in itself is a meditation at times. When you can find a moment also Sing, dance, and laugh. Remember that in spite of the continuing hate you may hear from those who are ignorant, you ar
e loved. Be safe out there, Resist as you can, and most of all just persist in whatever ways possible for as long as you are able. This too shall pass as long as we hold against the storm. Then we must dream and work together towards a better tomorrow.
I really had hoped I would not have to write this.. That Harris would win and we would have maybe a few more years to truly ask where this is all going.. Instead it seems our broken system has decided that the more reprehensible among us will again come to power. This continues to be completely unprecedented and I cannot predict what will come in the days and years ahead.
In troubling times I think it’s prudent for all those entrusted with the call of moderation and leadership to speak out to their communities as a voice of reason and calm. Most importantly in this case to boldly say: Do not lose all hope. There are still many ways things may still turn around. There still are some remaining checks and balances that may still not break. If all else fails, a wonderful thing about how the US is structured is that we are not one country but a Union made of entirely independently operating states. This will make it quite difficult for those who have grabbed power to fully implement their vision of control. We are fortunate to be in the great state of California and in the coming times we will have to look more to our state government to actually uphold its own constitution and resist tyranny and oppression if it shall occur. Also keep in mind that even in the darkest of hours you will still find good people in so many places keeping a light glowing. Indeed it’s now up to all of us who care about others and the community to help keep the lights glowing. We can get through this, there is still much wonderful hope.
We do also need to face the facts of reality. While things remain familiar for the next few months, prepare or shore up a refuge if you can, and help others if you are able. Doing what we can now to prepare before it all possibly degrades helps us ride through the tough times better. So make preparations, even to hide if you must. Most importantly keep going and keep hope.
