The problem with exclusiveness.
We are in a time of exclusiveness. A time where we have powerful visionaries presenting their message of how things should be for the future. then using what power they have they make that vision. They proclaim their message, select their team, do what is needed to make it all happen.
Problem is that even with the best intentions if a plan is that of a singular person it can easily start going wrong. This is because no one person is omniscient, and while they may have a grand view of the world they can observe, it is impossible to observe it all. The first wrong turn is group nature, we primarily like to hang out with those who think like us and share our vision so those perspectives are valued the most. Then to attract more people of the right type the visionary takes control of the messaging and makes it clear that those who agree are welcome and those who detract are not. Those detractors with differing visions do indeed create such doubt and negativity expressing their varying viewpoints. The usual course these days is to then exclude them in fear that perhaps their views might be right, and fear that their viewpoint and negativity will bring down such a beautiful vision. And with that success right? This is in the end how we create groups we love to be a part of centered around the visions of great and powerful people!
Then the neglect fueled by ignorance sets in. Because again no one person is omniscient. Those varying detractors and their visions did have a purpose. They provided balance, dynamic creativity, and through their differing perspective could see problems others could not. When those in charge are all selected to a singular harmonious vision of friends, groupthink sets in. When that sets in any information to the contrary is actively neglected and self censoring is encouraged. The official message after all from the visionary is that everything is great! Why would anything negative even be considered?
That forced neglect and ignorance then permeates. Things that were missed and were never done were never important and unneeded afterall. Who cares what decay is in the corners beyond vision as ignorance of that is bliss! If you just do not know or avert your gaze everything is fine.
This is happening in so many businesses and groups as of late. You can see it constantly, powerful visionaries/leaders proclaiming their message of how they can make things better, their actions however usually just shifting focus, allowing new decay and neglect outside that new vision.
So what’s Wrong with some exclusiveness and following a singular leader's vision? It’s the hidden neglect, self censoring and oppression that inevitably happens afterwards.
